Masan Group supports frontline COVID forces, localities hit by pandemic

Masan Group Corporation and its affiliates have donated more than 12,000 cartons of products of food and nutritious drinks to support officials manning checkpoints at borders, hospitals and localities with COVID-19.

Masan Consumer recently handed them over to 200 border-guard posts and 611 COVID checkpoints in south-western provinces such as An Giang, Long An, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, and Ca Mau.

It gave nearly 4,000 cartons of Omachi and Kokomi instant noodles, Wake-Up 247 energy drinks and other items to border guards and COVID frontline personnel.

Previously it had donated 600 cartons of essential products including Wake-Up 247 energy drink, Ponnie sausage, Vinacafe 3in1, and Kokomi instant noodles to 22 border checkpoints in Nghe An and Quang Ninh provinces.

Besides, in response to a call from the Ministry of Health, on May 24 Masan Group donated 1,000 cartons of Omachi instant noodles and 500 cartons of Hari-Hari bird's nest drinks to people in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces, including workers in industrial zones.

The two provinces are COVID hotspots with more than 2,000 patients and tens of thousands of people in quarantine.

Between May 18 and 28 Masan Consumer joined hands with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union, Cong An TPHCM (HCM City Public Security) newspaper, and the Hope Foundation to gift nearly 3,000 cartons of nutritional products to staff at the Central Lung Hospital, orphans being raised at Quang Phuc Pagoda in Ha Noi, COVID checkpoints in HCM City, and disadvantaged people in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh.

Nguyen Dieu Nhi, a medical worker at the checkpoint at Song Than flyover bridge in Thu Duc City, said: “In receiving meaningful gifts that the community and businesses send to forces fighting the epidemic, we feel very happy. These meaningful gifts seem to provide more motivation to us to continue doing our work." — VNS
