According to the finalized list, the top 100 enterprises of PRIVATE 100 have a total budget contribution of nearly 173,000 billion VND in 2023. Of which, more than 30 units have a contribution of thousands of billions or more.
With the desire to recognize the important role of the private sector in the economy, honor and spread the spirit of social service of businesses, CafeF has built PRIVATE 100 - List of private businesses that contribute the largest to the national budget in Vietnam.
PRIVATE 100 was first published on August 15, 2024 and is based on actual data submitted during the fiscal year (12 months) ending at times between June 30, 2023 and March 31, 2024.
PRIVATE 100 includes a general list, including all private enterprises with tax payments of over 100 billion VND, and a list of Top 100 leading enterprises (Private 100: Leading Group). In the Top 100, if a group has many parent companies - subsidiaries that meet the standards, only the parent company is ranked.

The top ten names are all familiar private corporations, with half of them being businesses owned by billionaires on the list, including Vingroup, THACO, Hoa Phat, Techcombank and Masan Group.
All 10 leading businesses have paid over VND4,000 billion in tax, with Vingroup paying an outstanding VND30,900 billion. The remaining businesses in the Top 10 all paid over VND4,000 billion.
Three businesses related to billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's ecosystem, including HDBank, Vietjet and HD Securities, also paid over VND4,000 billion in total.
The Private Banking Group has a total of 17 representatives in the Top 100 with a total contribution of nearly 42,000 billion VND. The Top 10 private banks contributing to the budget have contributed a total of more than 36,800 billion VND, an increase of more than 10,700 billion VND compared to 2022. Many banks have doubled their budget contributions compared to the previous year, equivalent to thousands of billions.
The group of private real estate enterprises contributes the second largest budget with more than 37,000 billion VND. Of which, 7 names contribute over 1,000 billion VND. If we include the data of large multi-industry corporations with real estate businesses such as Vingroup, THACO, Gelex..., this number can be up to over 50,000 billion VND.
Leading real estate enterprises in 2023 and 2024 all generated large budget payments in Hai Phong while investing heavily in this region, from Vinhomes to Hoang Huy Group, DOJILAND...
The consumer goods - retail sector is also one of the notable sectors with a large number of nearly 20 enterprises, contributing more than 21,000 billion VND. Of which, Masan consumer goods - retail group contributed more than 4,400 billion VND; beer enterprises contributed nearly 6,000 billion and other F&B (food - beverage) enterprises contributed more than 70,000 billion VND and retail enterprises contributed 3,700 billion VND.
In the retail sector alone, there are many enterprises with contributions of up to thousands of billions, including Mobile World Group (MWG) and the two leading enterprises in the jewelry retail sector, PNJ and DOJI.
The securities sector also recorded a large number with 15 enterprises in the PRIVATE 100 list, with the three leading enterprises having contributions of over 1,000 billion VND. In the technology sector, although the number of large private companies is quite modest, there are 2 representatives who paid over 1,000 billion, FPT and VNG.
Steel companies paid nearly 12,000 billion VND, mainly from Hoa Phat.
In addition to the above major sectors, the PRIVATE 100 list also includes businesses from most important sectors of the economy.
According to the finalized list, the top 100 enterprises of PRIVATE 100 have a total budget contribution of nearly 173,000 billion VND in 2023. Of which, more than 30 companies have a contribution of thousands of billions or more. The lowest enterprise has a contribution of more than 240 billion VND.
The contribution of the trio Vingroup, THACO and Hoa Phat alone accounts for more than 1/3 of the total contribution of the list.
The financial services group including banking, securities and insurance accounts for 28% of the contribution. Enterprises operating mainly in the real estate - construction industry (excluding Vingroup) account for 10%.
