Starting from January 2025, the supermarket/convenience store chains WinMart, WinMart+, and WiN (under WinCommerce) officially became banking agents of Techcombank. At these banking agent locations, customers are supported to fully maximize the benefits and privileges of financial and non-financial service solutions. This marks the initial step in Techcombank’s strategy to expand its network to key provinces and cities nationwide.
With this banking agent model – expected to be rolled out across the retail network spanning from urban to rural areas – Techcombank and WinCommerce aim not only to address financial access challenges, but also to become key drivers in the national digital transformation journey, promoting sustainable economic growth and contributing to Vietnam’s deeper integration and development.
As Vietnam’s economy continues to grow, so too do the needs and consumption behaviors of Vietnamese consumers. Since 2022, Masan Group (the parent company of WinCommerce) has launched a nationwide mini-mart model, providing a wide range of essential daily goods and services (groceries, health care, financial products) – all integrated into one destination, as part of a broader online-to-offline (O2O) ecosystem. Strengthening cooperation with Techcombank is a strategic move to accelerate and realize Masan's Point Of Life strategy.
Currently, WinCommerce is the largest modern retail chain in Vietnam in terms of scale, with nearly 4,000 WinMart, WinMart+, and WiN locations covering both urban and rural areas. Masan Group’s retail platform continuously adopts new initiatives to create added value for consumers. WinCommerce also plans to expand by opening 1,000 new stores in 2025.
In the initial phase, Techcombank and WinCommerce have jointly implemented the banking agent model at key locations in three provinces: Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Can Tho. As of now, 45 WinCommerce retail stores have been converted into Techcombank payment agents. The model promises to bring superior convenience to customers.
Customers can now deposit or withdraw money at WinMart/WinMart+/WiN stores just like at a Techcombank branch. This is especially useful for those living or working far from bank branches, transaction offices, ATMs, or CDMs. Currently, customers enjoy free-of-charge deposits into their Techcombank accounts at all WinCommerce retail outlets. For withdrawals, only a 0.3% service fee per transaction is applied (minimum VND 10,000), with no additional charges during public holidays or Tet.
A key highlight of Techcombank’s banking agent service is its flexible operating hours. Transactions are processed outside of traditional business hours, following the store schedule of WinMart/WinMart+/WiN – from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
In addition to cash services, customers can easily open a payment account directly at WinCommerce stores. New customers will also receive shopping vouchers for a wide range of everyday essentials and lifestyle products available at WinMart/WinMart+/WiN stores.
To further enhance the value chain and optimize customer experience, Techcombank and WinCommerce plan to expand the banking agent model to all provinces and cities, helping more people access financial services conveniently.
In 2025, Techcombank is also implementing a broader strategy to expand its network and create a seamless ecosystem between physical and digital channels. This initiative aims to deliver a comprehensive, modern, and personalized customer experience.
