    Just 1 year after Nam Ngu Ly Son chili garlic fish sauce was launched, this product has achieved outstanding sales with more than 5 million bottles.

    On August 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the promotion event of Nam Ngu Ly Son chili garlic fish sauce took place with great success, marking one year since this product was launched on the market and achieved impressive sales of more than 5 million bottles. The trust of consumers not only affirms the quality but also honors the famous Ly Son garlic specialty.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Cuong, Director of the Department of Crop Production, acknowledged and highly appreciated the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Nam Ngu brand of Masan Consumer and the People's Committee of Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province. He said that this is an important step to enhance the value of Ly Son garlic specialties, creating a premise to maintain and sustainably develop the long-standing garlic growing industry in the island district, while opening up opportunities to strongly promote agricultural products to the world.

    Mr. Cuong emphasized: “Ly Son garlic plays a key economic role for the people and local government. However, garlic cultivation by the islanders faces many difficulties due to weather conditions, pests, as well as fluctuations in the consumer market. Therefore, linking production and consumption in a chain, and processing branded products together is essential to increase the value of garlic, increase income and develop a sustainable agricultural economy in Ly Son island district.”

    According to Ms. Le Thi Nga, Deputy CEO of Masan Consumer, with a strategic vision for sustainable development, the company has focused on researching and developing products using Vietnamese specialty ingredients. This goal is to bring millions of Vietnamese consumers the opportunity to enjoy delicious dishes combined with local specialties, including Ly Son garlic.

    “With the strategy of expanding the export market, Nam Ngu will enhance the value of the Ly Son garlic brand to domestic and international consumers," Ms. Nga emphasized.

    Ly Son garlic is famous for its attractive aroma, sweet and spicy taste, small white bulbs, even cloves and high essential oil content, and is popular as a valuable spice and medicinal herb. Currently, the selling price of Ly Son garlic is 3-4 times higher than that of regular garlic, showing the true value that this local product brings.

    When the value of garlic and its brand are raised, Ly Son farmers will have higher income,the famous garlic brand of their homeland is better secured, and from there focus on cultivation and increase productivity, contributing to a more sustainable local economic development.

    Also at the promotion ceremony, the company supported the sustainable development program for Ly Son island district with a total value of 1 billion VND, to expand the irrigation system for agriculture. This will help ensure adequate water supply for garlic fields, contributing to improving productivity and product quality.
