The largest modern retail system in Vietnam officially renamed WinMart

Vinh City, Nghe An Province, January 15th 2022 - WinCommerce (member of Masan Group) held an announcement ceremony to change the brand name of VinMart retail system into WinMart. At the event, the company also opened its first supermarket with the name WinMart, integrating Phuc Long and Reddi mobile network in Vinh City.

This is an important step in WinCommerce's strategy to bring Vietnamese consumers new modern shopping experiences. The rebranding plan has been envisaged by WinCommerce since the time Masan Group took over the retail segment from Vingroup. This transition will be completed in the first quarter of this year.

After acquiring WinCommerce, Masan has successfully restructured, improved operational efficiency, launched mini-mall model, meeting a variety of essential needs of consumers. In the mini-mall, there are integrated WinMart+, Techcombank, Phuc Long kiosk, Phano pharmaceutical and Reddi mobile network. WinCommerce has got profitable since 3Q21.

The first 3 letters in WinMart represents Win. Consumers will be winners when they enjoy superior shopping experiences at a reasonable price. Vietnamese producers and farmers will win with the win-win cooperation model with WinCommerce. The word Win also shows the determination to affirm the position of a domestic retail enterprise in Vietnam. Above all, it shows the will of consensus and solidarity of nearly 30,000 WinCommerce employees towards the goal of becoming the pride of Vietnam.

Mr. Truong Cong Thang, CEO of WinCommerce said: “WinMart operates with 5 core values including: serving daily essential products that meet "The Very Best of Fresh" standards; Promoting domestic production; Protecting domestic distribution system; Bringing Vietnamese goods to the world; and Actively contributing to the state budget.”

The company also cooperates with Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade to organize Nghe An Agricultural Products - Specialties Week and Vinh’s Orange Week. At the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said: “Masan Group, as well as WinCommerce, have actively invested in producing and developing the distribution network, contributing to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province. Today’s series of events will promote Vinh oranges, along with other agricultural products - specialties of Nghe An province to a wide range of consumers which drives the development and modernization of local commercial infrastructure."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, Deputy CEO of WinCommerce said: “WinCommerce affirms its position as a retailer of Vietnamese people when it always maintains a ratio of more than 90% of domestic goods at WinMart/WinMart+. With consumer-centric approach, we are constantly innovating to meet the essential needs of consumers in the most complete way. Through WinMart/WinMart+, quality products of manufacturers and farmers are distributed widely, cutting intermediaries costs, and quickly reaching consumers.”

At the event, Masan Group presented to Huu Nghi Hospital a high-class ECMO ventilator to help the hospital in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic. This is the first ECMO system in Nghe An. Masan Group also presented 2,000 gifts with total value of 1 billion VND to the program "Tet for the poor - Nham Dan 2022" through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.
