CHIN-SU brought the vibrant spirit of Lunar New Year to students at Nam Ty Primary & Secondary School (Ha Giang) with a giant pot of braised pork and eggs, along with various festive activities. This special event is part of the community project "One Million Meals with Meat," organized by CHIN-SU in collaboration with The Mountainous Underprivileged Students Fund.
Unforgettable Lunar New Year with "One Million Meals with Meat"
Nam Ty School is nestled amidst the majestic mountains and misty clouds of Hoang Su Phi District, Ha Giang. On this day, the usually quiet school was bustling with excitement and laughter. The children’s bright and eager faces lit up as a special event took place: CHIN-SU brought an early Lunar New Year celebration to them.
The festive atmosphere filled the school yard with peach blossoms, couplets, cultural performances, lion dances, bamboo pole dancing, gift-giving, and lucky money distribution. The highlight of the day was the giant pot of braised pork and eggs, prepared by professional chefs. It was a memorable celebration for children in these challenging areas, providing an experience they had never had before.
"Giant Pot of Braised Pork and Eggs" – A Unique Lunar New Year Feast
Even during preparations, the children buzzed with excitement upon seeing a pot 2 meters in diameter placed in the school yard, steaming with 100 kilograms of pork and 800 golden-brown eggs. The children exclaimed, "I’ve never seen such a huge pot before. It’s big enough to feed our whole village!"
Over 500 warm, hearty meals featuring rich braised pork and fresh vegetables were served. The children’s eyes sparkled with joy as they held their plates of food, savoring every bite without leaving a single grain of rice. The laughter of children echoed across the schoolyard, creating unforgettable memories for both teachers and students.
Ms. Lien, the principal of Nam Ty Primary & Secondary School, shared: "Tet in the highlands is simple, but today, we celebrated an exciting and unforgettable Lunar New Year. The kids ate, played, watched fireworks, and received lucky money. This Tet celebration is something none of us will ever forget. Thank you, CHIN-SU’s 'One Million Meals with Meat,' for supporting us with not only daily meals but also bringing such immense joy during this festive season."
Among the volunteers was the singer Chi Pu. With a radiant smile, she participated in every activity, from cultural performances to cooking and decorating. She shared: "I feel so fortunate to join this project and help bring joy and encouragement to children in mountainous regions. I admire their strength in overcoming hardships to attend school."
Chi Pu expressed her gratitude for the project: "This campaign not only provides nutritious meals but also inspires hope and determination, helping children pursue their dreams. I hope the 'One Million Meals with Meat' project will continue to grow, enabling me to accompany and spread love, and attract even more community support to help more children."
CHIN-SU’s Commitment to "Supporting Students and Empowering Teachers"
Bringing Lunar New Year celebrations to underprivileged children is part of the "One Million Meals with Meat" program, organized by CHIN-SU in collaboration with The Mountainous Underprivileged Students Fund. The project aims to provide nutritional support for children in disadvantaged areas, not only by offering warm, loving meals but also by contributing to their physical, intellectual, and mental development.
For the 2024–2025 school year, the program will enter its second year, with a budget of VND 10 billion. It plans to provide one million meals for students at nearly 100 schools across nine northern mountainous and Central Highlands provinces.
"With these nutritious meals filled with love, we hope the children in mountainous areas will find the motivation to pursue their dreams. For the teachers, 'One Million Meals with Meat' will be a companion to ease their burdens and reignite their passion for educating future generations," shared a representative from CHIN-SU.
Amid the fragrant pot of braised pork and eggs, the Lunar New Year felt closer to these remote mountains. CHIN-SU's "One Million Meals with Meat" not only kicked off an exciting new year but also served as a source of encouragement and strength for teachers and students in highland areas.
