Masan Group honored in Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list
Recently, Fortune Magazine announced the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list. This is the ranking of the top 500 companies in Southeast Asia in 2024 in terms of revenue. In the consumer - retail sector of Vietnam, Masan Group, a top Vietnamese corporation, is the company topping the Fortune rankings with a revenue in 2023 reaching over 3.2 billion USD. Being named to this list is a step forward to help Masan gradually achieve its goal of being in the Top 50 World’s Most Admired Companies as voted by Fortune Magazine.
The consumer-retail sector with two subsidiary companies, Masan Consumer (MCH) and WinCommerce (WCM), accounts for more than 80% of Masan Group's revenue. Masan Consumer products are familiar to Vietnamese consumers in many different living spaces, from the kitchen corner to the living room, bathroom, refrigerator, etc. The company's upcoming goal is to build 6 big brands with revenue per brand reaching 1 billion USD, including CHIN-SU, Omachi, Cafe Wake-up 247, Vinacafé, Chanté, Bupnon Tea 365.
In the retail sector, WinCommerce with the WinMart supermarket chain, WinMart+ and WiN stores is the largest modern retail chain in the country. WinCommerce's revenue reached 30,000 billion in 2023 and is expected to increase to 33,000 billion in 2024. Of which, the mini mart chain, which accounts for 75% of revenue, has doubled its sales in the period 2019 - 2023, and more than 2,000 stores have made a profit in EBITDA (nearly 10 times compared to the figure in 2019).
